BIT Series

B-55E/TS, B-54E, B-54E/WR

B-55E/TS, B-54E, B-54E/WR

The BIT Series was not available in the United States. It was marketed in Japan, and perhaps in the UK. The BIT series has design features that have appeared in other Daion guitars, such as the oval sound hole in the ‘80 Year Series, fretboard inlays like the YW-50., and a headstock that is shaped like the ‘81 Caribou and Gazelle acoustics.

The most intriguing feature is the “Snake Loaded” sticker that appears on the 20th fret. “Snake Loaded” means there is a factory transducer installed under the bone bridge - thus the input jack that doubles as an end pin on the bottom of the guitar. There are no volume or tone controls like on the Caribou and Gazelle.

Also notable is that the BIT series used a bone nut and bridge saddle like a traditional acoustic guitar, rather than brass as seen in the YEAR Series. Using online tools to translate the image below, the top is spruce, fingerboard is rosewood, and the back and sides are nato on the B-54E and rosewood on the B-55E.
